New versions of ISO 4210 and ISO 8098 standards were approved in January 2023 and subsequently ratified under their EN ISO versions at European level as well.
They are coming into force this year and the date of withdrawal (DOW) of previous versions in Europe is set to 31July 2024 by CEN.
Though not a major revamp, they introduce some technical improvements and clarifications.
They are bound to replace their 2014 versions in the list of harmonized standards under the Directive for General Product Safety 2001/95/EC.
Manufacturers, importers and distributors may start to qualify their products and components under the new versions as the whole series is revised:
