Food contact materials are materials that are intended to be in contact with food and are controlled by the Regulation CE n°1935/2004.

Materials and items included are:

Specific regulations and directives describe the requirements and the testing method for each specific materials that can be used as a food contact material (plastics, ceramics, regenerated cellulose film and partly regenerated for rubbers).
